All of the contractors we use for specialist skills on forecourts must complete our approval documents. We always require information on their insurances and health and safety management systems.

We will insist that they work under our health and safety systems to ensure they have adequate risk assessments and control measures in place for each task.

In our experience we have found that contractors must be managed properly. We ensure clear and constant communication with contractors to make sure that the projects are carried out correctly. This is fundamental to the successful use of subcontractors and although it takes a bit more time and effort we have found that this is how we can maintain a good service while others may struggle.
